Online assessments that identify top themes of talent for different ages form the basis for the following five workshops. Once you register you will receive a code and instructions for taking the assessment. Individual or group coaching is also available by phone, or in person for those in the Knoxville area, as follow-up to the workshops. Fee: $55.00 per individual; 85.00 for parent/student. Parents: I highly recommend that you also take an assessment, even if you are not attending a workshop with your child. Becoming aware of your own strengths will make it much easier to recognize ways in which your expectations of your child are shaped by the way you are. StrengthsExplorer (ages 10-14)   includes a youth workbook and parent guide which should be downloaded and brought to the workshop. Offered as a parent/student workshop or for groups of young people. Teaching with Your Strengths As a teacher you have a greater impact on young people than anyone other than parents. While styles and approaches differ, all great teachers make the most of their natural talents. Take an online assessment that will reveal your innate talents and learn how to put those to use in your classroom to inspire and educate. Many educational institutions approach student development from a deficit model that focuses on fixing weaknesses. A better way to develop potential is to build on students’ natural talents. Who has more opportunity to recognize and affirm those talents than parents and teachers? Using a simple metaphor of a bucket and a dipper, we’ll explore how even the briefest interactions affect a child’s emotional well-being and ability to learn. Includes the book by the same name. Using simple self- assessments we’ll discover how each person learns best. Understanding learning styles empowers students to devise study strategies that work for them, and normalizes the inevitable frustrations that result from style differences between children and their parents, teachers or coaches. Become Your Child’s Learning Coach The best athletic coaches are gifted at spotting talent, developing it to its highest potential and placing players in positions suited to their strengths. Story Feasts Story Feasts are wonderful times of sharing, laughing, remembering and celebrating. Stories are shared in small groups in non-threatening and fun ways.
